 “ SE VENDE”

Propúxenme fotografar a arquitectura do meu entorno.

Unha mala xestión económica unido a especulación deu pé á edificación masiva co resultado dunha paisaxe agredida con obras a medio construír.

FOR SALE

I decided to take photographs of the architecture around me. Throughout the process of documentation I came across some information, in newspaper articles, in which incoherent reports about housing where often presented in an effort to ridicule them, without paying attention to their photographic resolution.
I became aware of the amount of existing paralyzed properties and I started to capture them. At first I handled them as premature ruins, until I realized that ruins imply functions and life, and these had not borne any. These have no remnants of life on them. They represent an abortion of construction. A bad economic management together with all the speculation made room for the massive building, resulting in a damaged landscape with half-built constructions.
A time-freeze in the laying of many foundations caused by the current economic situation made these kind of images more usual in our everyday lives. Bringing about problems of security and visual impact to the neighbour settlement.
